Greg and Gretch start a band called Sluggish in high school

1996

One of them had written "nirvana" in white-out on his pencil case, that was enough to start something

Our band could be your life

2001

Santiago and Greg start playing in the same soccer team

2005

They lost a lot of games together

Santiago and Greg realize they like the same kind of music

2006

One day, after a loss, they realized they both liked rock. Suspicious, Santiago asked what kind of rock. Greg gave him a CD he had burnt with some albums he was listening in his car:
- Mudhoney
- Paul McCartney's RAM
- Wilco's Summerteeth
- Dinosaur Jr
- Calexico's The Black Light
- Grandaddy's The Sophtware Slump
As a result, after years of playing with friends that didn't like indie music and only wanted to play bossa nova, metal or reggae, Santiago sent a text asking for marriage

Greg has its orbital floor broken during a soccer game

2006

It had to be replaced by a titanium one. Sounds like a marvel movie but it's just soccer
(The opponent said he didn't touch him)

Santiago goes through an osteotomy (jaw cut operation)

2006

He spent a whole month with a bloated face and without being able to talk. What a relief for everyone.

First recordings

2007

Greg and Santiago recorded 5 tracks just for fun. Santiago played guitar and harmonica. Greg sang and whistled. It was fun indeed. Those 5 tracks were:
- Hurray For The King
- I Can Ride You
- I Don't Wanna Run
- It Happened One Night
- On The Ground

Greg suggests Gretch as a bassist

2007

Great idea, all bands should have a hardcore fan of Sonic Youth playing bass

First Demo

2007

Gretch, Santiago and Greg spent a few months looking for a drummer but no one was interested. They eventually had to record themselves a few tracks with Greg playing drums and singing so they had a demo that could be listened to

Gael is the first drummer

2007

Great idea, all bands should have a drummer that likes Teenage Fanclub, John Bonham, Mitch Mitchell and ABBA

Wonderflu formed

WONDERFLU Light

2009

More than 10 years before making Top Water, Greg and Santiago tried to start something called WONDERFLU Light. The description went like this:
"These are are fat free folky songs. Same taste as regular WONDERFLU songs but it's light"

2012

Marco is the new drummer

2012

Straight from Italy, the man had no proper home (lived in a hotel), had no job yet and the first thing he did was to look for a band.
This is a solid advice for you kids: don't do this. Bands don't provide home nor jobs. Long lasting friendship is the best you can hope for :)
