So you want a bio?
Honestly, it's not something we're super fond of but we've tried our best on a few occasions. They're never biographical, we'll give you that but we just wanted you to kinda get why we're here playing music. (If having chronological facts is your thing, perhaps the timeline would help?)
Anyway, here they are. Pick the one that suits you, that's the best one.
Started in 2007, at an age when average French rockers usually trade the guitar for a synth, swap the drummer for a drum machine, or start singing in French, WONDERFLU got everything wrong by staying loyal to a specific idea of guitar driven indie rock that was all the rage back in the late twentieth century.
Doing the same mistake over and over again, they keep writing FM radio hits in the wrong place at the wrong time, with great diligence and bad faith.
The WONDERFLU caravan has been lugging its lanky indie rock from venue to venue, in Paris and elsewhere, since late 2007.
All those years wandering, spreading fuzz and melodies.
All those years gazing at the stars, scooping up sand and pissing like camels.
All those years and it's not over yet, the best is still to come...
We play independent rock.
The term is overused, worn out, soiled, bleached, soiled again and faded, but we still believe it means something.
It means a fuzz pedal isn't just there to play "Satisfaction".
That one verse and one chorus is fine.
But that eleven verses and no chorus is fine too.
That Sonic Youth didn't die for nothing, that the Screaming Trees will keep putting out fucking great albums, and that Kurt Cobain will reform one day (er, or something like that).
